US Ambassador commends Vietnamese government in COVID-19 fight

Mr Kritenbrink stated that the US will support Vietnam in the fight against COVID-19. The US has invested more than US$706 million over the past 20 years in health assistance in Vietnam.

On March 31, the US Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Daniel Kritenbrink, has commended the Vietnamese government for having done an outstanding job in its response to COVID-19.

In a video clip posted on the US Embassy official Facebook page, he said that COVID-19 is having an enormous impact on millions of people, on economies, and on societies everywhere, including here in Vietnam.

"I simply say thank you to all the people of Vietnam working on the front lines of this fight. Your work is saving lives," he said.

I also want to commend the Government of Vietnam, which has done an outstanding job in its response to COVID-19 and continues to be proactive, cooperative, and transparent.

Mr Kritenbrink stated that the US will support Vietnam in the fight against COVID-19. The US has invested more than US$706 million over the past 20 years in health assistance in Vietnam.

Beside of financial investments, the US also provided substantial technical support to prevent, detect and respond to emerging and serious infectious diseases.

According to Mr. Kritenbrink, the US and Vietnam will continue the cooperation as the COVID-19 crisis continues, and even after it is resolved.

"As strong partners, the United States and Vietnam will get through this together. Partners stand together, and we stand together with Vietnam in this fight," he said in the end of the clip./.
