Hanoi (VNA) – Exodus, an American volleyball team, played in a friendly match with Vietnam’s Duc Giang team in Hanoi on July 12.

The match was part of a sports exchange programme to create friendship among young people of the two nations.

After the match, the Exodus team is scheduled to visit Ha Long Bay to study environmental protection efforts there and other cultural destinations like the Temple of Literature, the Museum of Ethnology and KOTO restaurant, which trains at-risk children in the hospitality trade.

After Vietnam, the team will visit Luang Prabang, Laos, and join exchange programmes there.

This December, some Vietnamese and Laos volleyball teams, sponsored by the US Department of State, will travel to San Diego to play local teams and explore cultural destinations there.

This exchange programme is organised by the San Diego City Council and US National Ability Centre.

The Exodus volleyball team was formed to provide qualified training courses for at-risk young people. The programme is an opportunity for young female athletes from different social and cultural foundations to overcome differences, explore the world and become young ambassadors of the US. -VNA
