Indiansteel pile exporter Zenith Birla incurred anti-dumping duties of morethan 48 percent. Earlier in March, the US slashed an anti-subsidyduty of nearly 300 percent on steel pipes imported from the south Asiancountry.
Producers in Oman and the United Arab Emirateswere also hit with duty in the range of 5.6-11.7 percent. Accordingto the US Department of Commerce (DOC), these duties will affect exportsfrom the four countries, estimated at nearly 200 million USD in 2011alone.
The pipe covered in the ruling is used for handling waterand other liquids and gases under low pressures in plumbing, heating andcooling systems, and for other uses.-VNA
