US President Barrack Obama arrived in Tokyo on November 13, starting his first official visit to Japan since he took office in January.

During his two-day visit, President Obama is expected to hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama. As scheduled, the two sides will affirm the importance of their bilateral alliance, as next year marks the 50th anniversary of the revision of the bilateral security treaty.

They will also discuss cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and measures to combat global warming and nuclear disarmament.

As scheduled, President Obama will deliver a speech on US policy toward Asia and meet with Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on November 14.

Japan is President Obama’s first leg in his four-country tour of Asia . After Japan , he will visit Singapore to attend the APEC summit and make trips to China and the Republic of Korea./.
