President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Vu Xuan Hong on Jan. 31 received a delegation of the Soldier’s Heart Initiative, led by President Edward Bryan Tick in Hanoi.
President Hong spoke highly of the US war veterans’ efforts in promoting the normalisation of US – Vietnam relations and humanitarian projects in Vietnam, including overcoming the consequences of Agent Orange/dioxin.
Hong said he hopes the US veterans will find out more about Vietnam, contributing to strengthening and developing Vietnam – US relations for long-term benefits between the two peoples.
Edward Tick informed the host of his activities in Vietnam, including cultural exchange activities with Vietnamese writers, going on sightseeing tours, and presenting medical equipment and gifts to orphaned, disabled and AO-infected children in Hanoi, HCM City, Quang Nam and Hung Yen provinces./.
