USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier makes special visit to Da Nang, Vietnam

This marks the third time that a U.S. aircraft carrier has visited Da Nang. The first visit was conducted by the USS Carl Vinson in March 2018. The second visit occurred in March 2022 with the USS Theodore Roosevelt

On June 25th, a U.S. Navy fleet, led by the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, along with the guided-missile cruisers USS Antietam and USS Robert Smalls, arrived at Tien Sa Port in Da Nang, Vietnam.

This naval fleet began its 5-day visit to Vietnam, lasting from June 25th to June 30th.

The visit is a part of the commemorative activities for the 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and the United States (2013-2023).

The visit of the U.S. Navy fleet to Vietnam contributes to the maintenance and development of the bilateral relations between the two countries, aligning with the framework of the Comprehensive Partnership.

Moreover, the event highlights Vietnam's logistical and technical capabilities in receiving foreign naval fleets, showcasing the nation's image and its people in the region and on the international stage.

The USS Ronald Reagan is a U.S. aircraft carrier permanently stationed in the Asia-Pacific region. 

With a displacement of 97,000 tons and a length of 333 meters, it has a crew of approximately 5,000 personnel. 

The carrier is part of the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet and is based at Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan.
