Moscow (VNA) – Uzbekistan considers Vietnam an important partner and a bridge to help the Central Asian country build relations with other Southeast Asian nations, said Uzbekistani Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov.

The Uzbekistan official made the statement when receiving a letter of credentials presented by Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia and Uzbekistan Ngo Duc Manh at the Uzbekistan Embassy in Moscow on December 21.

During the meeting, Kamilov spoke highly of his country’s traditional relations and sound friendship with Vietnam, expressing the hope to expand cooperation with the Southeast Asian country in agriculture and light industry.

He briefed on Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development achievements in recent years, affirming that Uzbekistan maintains win-win cooperation with its neighbours and foreign partners.

In an interview with the National Television of Uzbekistan after the meeting, Ambassador Manh highlighted the friendly bilateral relations, saying that Vietnam wants to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchange between the two countries.

He took the occasion to thank the Uzbekistani Embassy in Moscow for its effective cooperation with its Vietnamese counterpart, thus contributing to strengthening multifaceted cooperation between the two nations./.
