Vice NA Chairwoman presents gifts to child heart patients

Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on July 17 visited and presented gifts to children suffering from congenital heart disease who are under treatment at the Hanoi Heart Hospital.

Sixty children from the northern province of Quang Ninh and the central province of Thanh Hoa will receive free surgery soon under a charity programme sponsored by the Vietnam Children Sponsor Fund (VCSF).

The law maker wished the children good recovery after the operations so that they can go to school like their normal peers.
 
She thanked donors both at home and abroad who have supported the unlucky children.

On this occasion, Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen presented 400 million VND to each children sponsor funds in Quang Ninh and Thanh Hoa provinces.

Since its inception, the VCSF has raised over 4 trillion VND to help more than 28 million children in special difficulty nationwide.

Vietnam still has over 10,000 children born with heart diseases in need of surgery.-VNA
