Vice President visits embassy in UAE, meets Nakheel & Limitless leaders

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), during which she asked the embassy’s staff to give more advice to the Party and State on specific measures to further promote partnership between Vietnam and the UAE.

Abu Dhabi (VNA) – Vice President Dang Thi NgocThinh visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the UnitedArab Emirates (UAE), during which she asked the embassy’s staff to givemore advice to the Party and State on specific measures to further promotepartnership between Vietnam and the UAE.

She expressed her delight at progress in the Vietnam-UAEcooperation over the years, noting that the UAE has become one of Vietnam’s leadingpartners in the Middle East.

The Vice President briefed the embassy’s staff on recent socio-economicdevelopment and external relations of the country, especially Vietnam’s winningof a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 tenure withhigh votes.

She also highlighted major outcomes of the fifth Conference on Interaction andConfidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) as well as Vietnam’s activeengagement in the event.

Ambassador to the UAE Trinh Vinh Quang pledged that the embassywill work harder to fulfil all tasks assigned by the Party and State.

During her stay in the UAE from June 17-18, Vice PresidentThinh had a working session with leaders of Nakheel & Limitless Group – amajor state-owned from of the UAE operating in the area of real estate, resortand entertainment. Established in 2000, the Dubai-based firm is runningprojects in 87 countries, including the 550 million USD Ha Long Star project inVietnam’s Quang Ninh province.

The Vice President affirmed that Vietnam highly values partnershipwith the UAE, especially in economy.

She lauded the UAE and Nakheel & Limitless Group inparticular for investing in Vietnam with many big infrastructure projects.

The Vietnamese Government always welcomes and is willing tocreate favourable conditions for UAE investors to operate in Vietnam, shestated.

The Vice President said that Ha Long is one of the mostbeautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites with convenient transport connectionthanks to the inauguration of Van Don International Airport, seaports and theHanoi-Ha Long and Van Don-Ha Long expressways.

She committed that the Government of Vietnam will supportthe implementation of the project, suggesting the firm speed up its projectwith priority to using local labourers.

Leaders of Nakheel & Limitless Group spoke highly of thetourism and agricultural development potential of Vietnam, a promising marketfor UAE investors. They expressed their hope that the Vietnamese Governmentwill design preferential policies to attract more investors from the MiddleEast, while considering the launching of a direct air route linking Vietnam andthe UAE.

The firm is calling for the involvement of internationalinvestors to expand the scale of the Ha Long Star project, they noted, invitingthe Vice President to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the project slatedfor late this year.-VNA
