Vice State President active in South Africa

Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan had a meeting with Secretary General of South Africa’s ruling party African National Congress (ANC) Fikile Mbalula in Johannesburg on September 14, within the framework of her official visit to the country.

Pretoria (VNA) – Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan had a meetingwith Secretary General of South Africa’s ruling party African National Congress (ANC)Fikile Mbalula in Johannesburg on September 14, within the framework of herofficial visit to the country.

Xuan affirmed that Vietnam highly values the role of the ANCin South Africa, and expressed her impression with the country’s developmentachievements under the leadership of the Party.

Mbalula affirmed that he always values the solidarity and friendship thatVietnam had for South Africa's past struggle, and stressed the consistentpolicy of his Party and the Government in promoting good comprehensivecooperation with the Party and Government of Vietnam in the coming time.

The two sides agreed that in the coming time, the twoParties and States need to increase delegation exchanges and contacts at alllevels, promote the sharing of experiences in leading and managing the countryand in Party building, to closely coordinate at international political partyforums of which the two Parties are members, and to facilitate economiccooperation activities for the benefit of the two peoples.

Earlier the same day, the Xuan received leading officials from the South African Chamber of Commerce andIndustry (SACCI) and local enterprises.

She proposed the two countries continue promoting economic,trade and investment cooperation in the coming time to match their potential.

The official also suggested SACCI and the Vietnam Chamber ofCommerce and Industry strengthen collaboration and promote the exchange ofministerial-level delegations, increase information sharing about each country'slegal framework, and encourage businesses from both sides to connect andparticipate in fairs and exhibitions.

Participants showed their hope to have more opportunities tolearn about the Vietnamese market.

Vietnam, Cambodia sign defence cooperation plan for 2027

Giang called on agencies and units of the two defence ministries to implement agreed cooperation programmes, focusing on political and ideological education to strengthen political trust, and cooperation between military services and arms. The two sides should step up coordination in border management and protection to build a Vietnam-Cambodia border of peace, cooperation and development.

Deputy PM visits China’s Tsinghua University, seeking closer educational cooperation

Tsinghua has worked to implement the Vietnamese and Chinese leaders’ orientations for higher education cooperation.
