Doan was speaking with over 150 domestic and international delegatesat the second partnership meeting of the Vietnam Red Cross (VRC), inHanoi on Sept. 22.
On behalf of the State and theVietnamese people, she expressed thanks for the effective supportchannelled by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent societies,national Red Cross societies as well as domestic and internationalindividuals, and organisations for underprivileged and vulnerableVietnamese people.
On the occasion, the Vice StatePresident praised the achievements in humanitarian and charitableactivities the VRC has recorded over the past three years.
At the two-day meeting, the VRC proposed 53 programmes and projectscalling for sponsorship, which are the association’s priorities in thenext five years.
Since 2008, the VRC has receivedand implemented some 90 projects with nearly 465 billion VND disbursed,the association reported.
At present, 33 otherprogrammes and projects are going on with a total capital of 151 billionVND, focused mainly on disaster prevention and assistance. /.
