Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan received in Hanoi on Nov. 5 a delegation from the Vietnam Committee for Solidarity of Catholics (VCSC) which has attended the third Vietnamese Catholic congress, that highlights good deeds and honourable people among Vietnamese Catholics.

At the reception, Vice President Doan expressed delight at the success of the congress and highlighted the VCSC-launched movements.

She affirmed that the Party, the State and the people have acknowledged the great contribution made by the Catholic community in national construction and defense.

The Vice President expressed her wish that the Catholic people make further contributions to the country’s development and do good things for both the religion and the nation.

She asked the Vietnam Fatherland Front and authorities to pay more attention to the emulation movements of Catholics community.

Catholic priest Phan Khac Tu said that the congress has been successful and highlighted bright examples of Catholics which have made contribution to the country.

The same day, Vu Trong Kim, Vice President and General Secretary of VFF Central Committee received nearly 40 delegates of exemplary Catholic role models.

The congress has proved active response of Catholic followers in patriotic emulation movements throughout the country, he said.

He affirmed that close relationship between the State and Catholics followers both in and outside the country has developed strongly.

Nguyen Cong Danh, VCSC President, said that the congress is a model to unite the whole nation in national construction and development. This has been reflected in the correct policies of the VFF through strict and firm guidelines./.
