The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Exhibitions Company (VietchamExpo) and Global Sources, a leading US business-to-business media company, have signed a cooperation agreement to promote the export of Vietnamese made products in HCM City on Sept. 14.

Under the agreement, VietchamExpo and Global Sources will select members of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to attend their events, hold e-trade skills training courses for VCCI members and spotlight Vietnam’s stand at the China Sourcing Fair.

Members of VCCI can now be listed for free on the Global Sources website, which provides financial assistance for the logistical work needed by businesses exhibiting through VCCI.

Through the agreement, VCCI members are able to gain a greater access to Global Sources' community of over 829,000 buyers at seminars and conferences and receive marketing training that focuses on exports.

Global Sources' Executive Director Sarah Benecke said that home products are consistently among Vietnam 's top exports. In 2008, the nation’s furniture and bedding exports to the US totalled 1.4 billion USD, representing more than 10 percent of the country's total US-bound exports.

Products made in Vietnam continue to gain a bigger market share worldwide, thanks to the variety of prices, quality and designs, which are unmatched across a range of product categories. She added that Global Sources will do its utmost to help its buyers find reliable suppliers in Vietnam.

Vietcham Expo Director Bui Thi Thuc Anh said that the main aim is to support Vietnamese suppliers by boosting their export sales and to diversify the range of Vietnamese made products available to overseas markets.

She also believes that VCCI cooperation with Global Sources will offer new opportunities for the local exporters to develop their businesses with other global importers.
