VietJet Air debuts Chinese Wuhan – Lam Dong air route

Lam Dong (VNA) – The first direct flight between Wuhan province, China, andVietnam’s Central Highlands province of Lam Dong landed at Lien Khuong airportin the province on December 18.

Operated bythe Vietnam-China Travel Corporation and the low-cost carrier VietJet Air, thechartered flight took three hours to reach its destination in Vietnam, where240 Chinese passengers on board were warmly welcomed by local authorities.

Thepassengers were then transported to Da Lat city, 30 km away from the airport,to stay for one night before leaving for Nha Trang city in the central provinceof Khanh Hoa.

There arethree Wuhan – Lam Dong flights, scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdayevery week.

Nguyen ThiHai Nam, deputy head of the travel company, said the air route was opened toreduce pressure for Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa, which ishosting too many flights from China every week.

Cam Ranhairport is 30km away from Nha Trang – a popular beach city for Chinese touristsin Vietnam.

The routealso enables these holiday-markers to enjoy themselves in Da Lat before headingto Nha Trang, she said.

Vietjet is the first airline in Vietnam to operate as a new-age airline with low-cost and diversified services to meet customers’ demands. It provides not only transport services but also uses the latest e-commerce technologies to offer various products and services for consumers.

Currently, Vietjet boasts a fleet of 40 aircraft, including A320s and A321s, and operates 350 flights each day. It has already opened 53 routes in Vietnam and across the region to international destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, China and Myanmar.
