A high-level delegation of Vietnam, headed by Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan is actively taking part in the on-going 100th General Assembly session of the International Labour Organisation in Geneva.

The Vietnamese delegation has presented reports at plenary sessions and group meetings, sharing the country’s experiences in building and implementing policies on labour, job and social welfare.

It also joined in discussions on global problems related to jobs, labour management and inspection.

The delegation participated in the Asia-Pacific labour ministers’ meeting on jobs for young people.

As an official member of the ILO governing body, the Vietnamese delegation attended the governmental group’s meeting in preparations for its official meeting. Vietnam was elected for the first time as an official member of the ILO governing body’s government group on June 6.

Minister Ngan is scheduled to deliver a speech at the ILO General Assembly’s plenary session on June 14 and meet with the ILO General Director on June 15.

On the sidelines of the 100 th General Assembly session, the Vietnamese delegation had working sessions with the labour minister of the Republic of Korea , the deputy minister of human resources of Singapore , the director of ILO for Asia-Pacific region and ILO officials.

The 100th session of the ILO General Assembly takes place from June 1 to 17 with the participation of more than 3,000 delegates from 183 ILO members countries and international organisations as well as guests who are high-ranking leaders of countries worldwide./.
