Hanoi (VNA) – The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has received the 12th out of total 14 Airbus A350-900 aircraft that it ordered earlier.
Coded VN-A897, this is the first A350 aircraft in the world decorated with the global airline alliance SkyTeam and Vietnam Airlines logos on its body.
The plane was put into use for the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route on April 15.
The airline received its first A350 in 2015. The 11th one was transferred to the airline in March 2018 during Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to France.
As scheduled, the rest two aircraft will be handed over to Vietnam Airlines during 2019.
In the first quarter of 2018, Vietnam Airlines operated nearly 33,000 safe flights, up 4.3 percent over the same period last year.
With a widespread flight network featuring more than 90 air routes to destinations in Vietnam and around the world, Vietnam Airlines is one of the key airlines of Vietnam and the region.
Vietnam Airlines’ service quality was rated four stars by SkyTrax – a prestigious airline rating organization of the UK – in two consecutive years. The airline is also highly evaluated by international passengers for cultural identity shown in each flight. It was named the World’s Leading Cultural Airline in 2017 by the World Travel Awards.-VNA
