Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam Airlines took the delivery of the fifth A350-900 from the world’s leading manufacturer Airbus in Hanoi on October 31.
The aircraft numbered VN-A890 landed at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi at 7:00 am (local time).
It will be put into use on the morning of November 1 on the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route.
So far, Vietnam Airlines has received five A350s out of the total 14, which will be handed over one after another until mid-2019.
This new-generation plane is being used on international flights to Paris (France), Incheon (the Republic of Korea), Shanghai (China), Osaka (Japan), and domestic routes between Hanoi and HCM City.
The launching of the new plane aims to help the carrier ensure its four-star service quality, which will be increased to five-star level in the near future.
The freshly-received aircraft is also the first of its kind in the sale and leaseback deal between Vietnam Airlines and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise.
The remaining two aircraft are scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017.-VNA
