Meeting with Indian Vice President and Chairman of the Council of States Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi, Chairman Hue stressed that Vietnam always attaches importance to its comprehensive strategic partnership with India.
For his part, Vice President Naidu thanked the Vietnamese National Assembly, Government, and people for their timely assistance to the South Asian country in the most trying times of the COVID-19 fight.
He also highly valued Vietnam’s growing role and position in the region and the world, adding that the two countries have coordinated with each other well while serving as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.
The two leaders agreed to maintain all-level mutual visits between the Vietnamese and Indian states, governments, parliaments, parties, localities, and people.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received AK Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of ONGC Videsh, an international petroleum company of India and an overseas arm of India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation.

Receiving Prashant Ruia, Chairman of Essar Group, Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue welcomed the group's wish to invest in the petrochemical industry in Vietnam.
The leader of Essar said the group will set up a working team to study investment opportunities in Vietnam right after the meeting.
Fostering Vietnam – India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
Vietnam and India established their diplomatic relations in 1972 and upgraded the ties to comprehensive strategic partnership in September 2016. They are working to implement an action programme materialising the partnership for 2021-2023. They always support each other and regularly exchange delegation across all levels, particularly high-level ones.
