On the morning of March 17, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud, who was on a visit to Vietnam.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated the achievements in socio-economic development that Saudi Arabia has achieved and thanked the Saudi Arabia Government and the country's humanitarian organizations for supporting Vietnam financially and in medical supplies to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic

The Prime Minister said that Vietnam wants to participate in oil and gas projects in Saudi Arabia, asking the country to completely lift the ban on seafood imports and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods to get into this potential market.

Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud said that Vietnam and Saudi Arabia have great potential to further promote cooperation in many fields, especially in trade and investment.

He completely agreed with the proposals of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, considering those as a roadmap to promote cooperative relations between the two countries.

During the visit, the Prince met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son.

At the meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, the Saudi Foreign Minister affirmed that Saudi Arabia always considers Vietnam as one of the important partners in the Look East policy.

Vietnam and Saudi Arabia established diplomatic relations on October 21, 1999. Since then, the bilateral relationship has achieved many encouraging steps, making Vietnam and Saudi Arabia important partners of each other in each region.

Taking place in the context of the complicated world situation, the visit has reaffirmed Vietnam as one of Saudi Arabia's important partners in Southeast Asia.

The visit is an opportunity for the two sides to share experiences, exchange cooperation, and create a strong motivation for economic development as well as trade, investment, and tourism in the coming time./.
