Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance and Argentinean Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) signed an agreement on customs cooperation in Buenos Aires on November 27.

Under the agreement, through their customs agencies, the two sides will assist each other in preventing, investigating and punishing violations in the field of customs.

Addressing the signing ceremony, the two sides affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation in customs as bilateral trade value has kept increasing over recent years, from 272 million USD in 2006 to over 1 billion USD in 2011.

Deputy Finance Minister Nguyen Cong Nghiep and AFIP Administrator Ricardo Echegaray said the two sides will start negotiations for the early signing of the double taxation avoidance agreement to facilitate economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.-VNA
