Vietnam joined more than 50 diplomatic missions, international organisations and United Nations agencies at the Diplomatic Fair 2013 in Pretoria , South Africa on October 26.
Organised by the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the event was to mark the 50 th anniversary of the establishment of the African Union (AU).
The charity bazaar offered an opportunity for participating nations to introduce their history, traditional cultures and beautiful landscape.
African nations also took the chance to highlight the all-Africa spirit – an important goal pursued by the former Organisation of African Unity ( OAU ) and now the AU in order to build an Africa of peace, solidarity and unity in diversity.
Thousands of visitors enjoyed art performances imbued with cultural identities of participating countries, including dances and songs, fashion shows, calligraphy and culinary arts.
Vietnam ’s pavilion was one of the highlights in the fair, just like in previous events. Apart from the all-time popular fried spring rolls and G7 coffee, visitors were impressed by Vietnamese handicrafts and conical hats.-VNA
