Wushu artist Hoang Thi Phuong Giang on December 8 brought in the second gold medal for Vietnam at the ongoing 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.

Giang finished first in the women’s Changquan (long fist) category with 9.68 points while Myanmar’s Yan Ni Tan was placed second with 9.60 points.

The first gold medal of Vietnam was also earned by a Wushu artist, Duong Thuy Vi, who topped the women’s Taolu Jianshu event on December 7.

Therefore, the country’s Wushu team has completed its target of one to two gold medals in the Taolu category.

Vietnam set a goal of gaining at least 70 gold medals at the 27th SEA Games, which will last until December 22.

At the last competition held in Jakarta two years ago, the country ranked third, winning 96 gold medals, following the host Indonesia with 182 and Thailand with 109.-VNA
