Theoutcomes were reached at the talks between Lieut. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich,Director of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’sArmy, and Major Gen. Aleksandr Nikolaevich Gura, Chief of the MainDirectorate of Ideological Work of the Belarusian Defence Ministry, inHanoi on March 22.

Lich said the current visit ofthe Belarusian delegation showed the continued development of thetraditional friendship between the armies and people of the two nations.

Gura said he believed that the trip would reap fineresults and contribute to strengthening cooperative relations betweenthe two armies.

Later in the day, Gura and hisentourage paid a courtesy visit to Minister of National Defence Gen.Phung Quang Thanh, who spoke highly of the results of the earlier talksbetween the two sides./.

To further strengthen Vietnam-Belgium relations, especially parliamentary cooperation, both sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. They also pledged to share legislative and supervisory experience, coordinate positions in international organisations, support each other’s candidacies for UN bodies, and effectively implement the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
