Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan made the remarks at a reception for Pitt Kuan Wah, Director of the National Archives of Singapore and SARBICA’s Presidentm on October 2 in Hanoi .

At the meeting, Nhan emphasised that Vietnam wishes for more cooperation in the application of digitalisation and other information technologies in archival work.

In response, Director Wah praised the great attention that the Vietnamese government has paid to archiving and confirmed that Singapore is willing to increase cooperation with Vietnam in the field, especially through the sharing of experiences and updated information on professional archive science.

The meeting took place on the heels of the 17th SARBICA Executive Board meeting and a seminar entitled “Digitalisation of archival records – Sharing experiences” held in Hanoi from October 1-2.

Founded on 1968 in Kuala Lumpur , SARBICA is the first branch of the International Council on Archives in the region. It now consists of all ten ASEAN countries./.
