Vietnam calls up 30 U-16 players for CFA int’l tournament in China

The team will train at the VFF Youth Football Center from May 10 and depart for Hohhot, China, on May 23.

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam U16 head coach Cristiano Roland has named 30 players for the team’s first training camp of 2025, preparing for the CFA Team China U16 International Tournament.

The squad includes standout talents from top youth academies such as PVF, The Cong Viettel, Hanoi FC, Song Lam Nghe An, and Ba Ria Vung Tau.

Notable names include goalkeeper Ly Xuan Hoa, striker Nguyen Van Duong both award winners at the 2024 U15 National Championship and midfielder Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc from the U17 national team.

The team will train at the VFF Youth Football Centre from May 10 and depart for Hohhot, China, on May 23. The tournament, featuring strong teams from Australia, Saudi Arabia, and China, will run from May 28 to June 1.

The competition is part of Vietnam's preparation for the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup qualifiers./.
