Vietnam, Cambodia look to foster cooperation in mass mobilisation

Hanoi (VNA) – A delegation of the Mass Movement Commission of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Central Committee led by its Secretary-General Hun Many, who is also Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service, is paying a working visit to Vietnam from July 4-7.

At a meeting with Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilisation Bui Thi Minh Hoai on July 5, Hun Many congratulated Vietnam on achievements that it has obtained in recent times.

He believed that under the leadership of the CPV, the Vietnamese people will continue to reap more and greater achievements in the Doi Moi (Renewal) process, national construction and defence.

Expressing profound thanks to Vietnam for its support to Cambodia in saving the Cambodian people from the genocidal regime and in the current cause of national development, Hun Many affirmed that Cambodia will always preserve and cultivate the friendship and strengthen relations between the two Parties and their mass mobilisation commissions.

He briefed the host about the recent situation in Cambodia and fruitful talks between the leaders of the commissions, adding that he will coordinate closely and effectively in implementing the agreement reached between the two commissions.

For her part, Hoai expressed her delight that Vietnam - Cambodia relations have constantly been strengthened and developed, reaping many important achievements in various fields, contributing to maintaining political stability and economic development of each country and serving as the foundation and driving force to bring the bilateral relationship to new heights.

She lauded the results of cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia and between the two mass mobilisation commissions, which is developing intensively and practically. Vietnam's consistent foreign policy is to always value and give top priority to consolidating and developing the good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia, she added.

Hoai thanked the Cambodian Government for creating favourable conditions for people of Vietnamese origin to live stably in Cambodia and supporting and removing difficulties for Vietnamese businesses investing in Cambodia. She urged the two mass mobilisation commissions to strengthen cooperation to well implement the agreed contents, contributing to the common cause of each Party and each country.

The same day, the Cambodian delegation held talks with the delegation of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilisation, led by its standing deputy head Pham Tat Thang.

The two sides informed each other about the situation of each Party and each country; the mass mobilisation work of each Party; Vietnam - Cambodia relations; cooperation between the two commissions and some issues of mutual interest.

They pledged to continue to maintain delegation exchanges and share experience and information; coordinate in communications work and encourage people, especially the young generation, of the two countries, to preserve and cultivate the fine relations between the two Parties and the two countries./.
