Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, on Aug. 18 began an official visit to Cambodia at the invitation of the Cambodian Defence Ministry.
Following the welcome ceremony, the two sides held talks on issues of mutual concern. Both agreed that defence cooperation between the two countries has brought in effective results in many fields.
Between 2005 and now, through the signing of annual cooperation protocols between the two defence ministries, the cooperation in this field had been implemented fruitfully, significantly contributing to boosting the friendship between the two countries and armies.
Ty, who is Deputy Defence Minister, is scheduled to pay courtesy visits to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Defence Minister Tea Banh on Aug. 19./.
