The Vietnamese side included Vice Commander of theVietnamese Coast Guard 1 Luong Cao Khai and Vessels 8003 and 8004, while theChinese side had deputy head of the Nan Hai branch office Liu Tianrong and Vessels3305 and 46305.
Both sides held talks onboard Vessel CSB 8004 to reachconsensus on fishery inspection in the area, including monitoring theimplementation of the fishery cooperation agreement at nine points in the Gulfof Tonkin’s joint fishing area.
It was the 17th time they had conducted jointinspection since the agreement took effect. Activities include expertiseexchange, inspection and supervision of fishermen’s fishing vessels.
Liu said ties between the Vietnamese and Chinese coastguards have been growing rapidly and substantially, contributing to promoting extensivecooperation between the Vietnamese and Chinese law enforcement forces whileraising mutual understanding between the two countries’ governments and peoples.
Also on April 24, they presented gifts to Nguyen Van Son,captain of fishing Vessel TH 92016 TS with nine crewmembers aboard.
The joint inspection will last till April 26.-VNA
