Hanoi (VNA) – The expansion of the Vietnam-China Land Border Joint Committee cooperation mechanism has improved immigration and export-import management, contributing to socio-economic development in border localities.

Commander of the Border Guards Hoang Xuan Chien and head of the China National Border Bate Management Office Huang Shengqiang made the comment while co-chairing the fourth session of the committee in Hanoi on October 24, Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s army) newspaper reported on October 25.

Both sides reviewed the implementation of a memorandum of understanding from the third meeting of the committee, and agreed to open and upgrade several border gates.

They assessed sub-committees’ work in administrative reform, the collection of fees at border gates while studying the new customs model “Single Window – Single Stop” at the Huu Nghi – Youyi Guan border gate, and considered the construction of the Lao Cai - Hekou border gate.-VNA
