Vietnam-China Youth Festival opens

The Vietnam-China Youth Festival opened in China ’s Guangxi province on August 25, which expects to attract more than 7,000 Chinese delegates along with 3,000 Vietnamese youths in activities spanning eight Chinese cities over five days.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chen Jiwa, Vice Secretary of theCommunist Party Committee of Guangxi expressed the belief that thefestival will contribute to strengthening friendship, mutualunderstanding and trust between the two countries’ youth and people.


Lam Phuong Thanh, Permanent Secretary of CentralCommittee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said that under theframework of the 60 th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties andVietnam-China Friendship Year 2010, the event is an importantfoundation to enhance cooperative relations and promote traditionalfriendship between the two nations.


With the theme,“Vietnamese and Chinese youths join hands to foster friendship”, theVietnamese delegation will visit relics that are associated withVietnam ’s revolutionary history, join activities to protect theenvironment and attend exchanges with local young people and seminars onyoung people’s business start-up to foster cooperation between theyouth of the two countries.


Festival activities willtake place in Liuzhou , Guilin , Beihai, Quinzhou, Fangcheng Port, Baise, Chongzuo and Nanning./.

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.

Shift to data-driven administrative procedures needs acceleration

Under a draft decree replacing Decree 63, authorities will have to proactively pull information from databases and records for informational or technical procedures. Applicants would no longer be required to resubmit documents, and certification or information requests could not be turned into discretionary licensing through an “ask – give” mechanism.
