Vietnam confirmed 94 more cases of A/H1N1 influenza on September 4, raising the total number of flu patients in the country to 3,295 with two deaths.

The new cases included 55 in the South, 22 in the North, 13 in the central region and four in the Central Highlands.

A total of 1,473 patients have been discharged from hospital after treatment. The remaining are under quarantine and being treated. All are in stable condition.

The Ministry of Health has recommended schools nationwide take the initiative to cope with unfolding developments in the spread of the disease and detect any cases of A/H1N1 influenza infection.

It also called on people to protect themselves in order to minimise any complications from the flu, which does have the potential to be fatal./.
