Vietnam congratulates Namibia on Independence Day

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President Nguyen Phu Trong on March 20 sent a congratulatory message to President of Namibia Hage Gottfried Geingob on the African nation’s 29th Independence Day (March 21).

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary ofthe Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President Nguyen Phu Trong on March 20sent a congratulatory message to President of Namibia Hage Gottfried Geingob onthe African nation’s 29th Independence Day (March 21).

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister andMinister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh extended his congratulations toNamibian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister ofInternational Relations and Cooperation Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah.

Vietnam and Namibia set up diplomaticties in 1990, based on the sound traditional relationship first started in the1970s between the CPV and the South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO) –the current ruling party in Namibia.-VNA

In the first four months of 2025, Vietnam’s exports to Senegal stood at 43.43 million USD, nearly equalling the total for 2024 (43.91 million USD). Prime Minister hosts welcome ceremony for Thai counterpart

This is the first visit to Vietnam by PM Paetongtarn since she took office, and also the first by a Thai Government leader in 11 years. Additionally, it marks the first joint cabinet meeting between the two countries’ prime ministers in 10 years.
