Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba spoke highly of the great achievements Vietnam has made while meeting with the new Vietnamese ambassador to the country.
On the occasion of presenting his letter of credential to the Namibian President in Windhoek on November 27, Ambassador Le Huy Hoang affirmed the desire and determination of the Vietnamese Government and people to unceasingly strengthen the traditional friendly relationship with Namibia.
Hoang pledged to work to further the all-around ties between the two countries, especially in economy, trade, agriculture and aquaculture, during his working term.
For his part, President Pohamba expressed deep impression about his recent State visit to Vietnam, when he saw with his own eyes the achievements Vietnamese people have made during their Doi moi (renewal) and development cause.
He promised that Namibia will create every possible condition for Vietnamese investors and products to enter its market and Africa’s market, adding that he hopes both countries will continue implementing the joint projects such as the tripartite cooperation model on aquaculture funded by the Food Agriculture Organisation (FAO).
Earlier, Ambassador Hoang met with Namibian Foreign Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to discuss ways to boost the political-diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Minister Netumbo suggested that Vietnam and Namibia should continue coordinating closely at the United Nation Human Rights Councils (UNHCR), in which both countries are members for the 2014-2016 tenure, as well as at other international forums.-VNA
