Vietnam congratulates Ukraine on Independence Day

Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on August 23 sent a message of congratulations to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on the 27th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day (August 24).
Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang on August 23 sent a message of congratulations to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on the 27th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day (August 24).

The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc cabled a congratulatory message to his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Groysman.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh also took the occasion to extend congratulations to Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin.

Vietnam and Ukraine established diplomatic ties on January 23, 1992. In the past decades, the two countries have enjoyed remarkable achievements in bilateral relations, which were lifted to the level of comprehensive partnership and cooperation.

Trade is a top priority in the bilateral relations. Two-way trade between the two countries reached 355.5 million USD in 2017, a year-on-year rise of 34.5 percent.-VNA
