The signing ceremony of the instruments of accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) by Colombia, Cuba and South Africa was held online on November 10.
The Ministry of National Defence held a meeting in Hanoi on November 30 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba.
On December 2, 1960, Cuba became the first country in the Western hemisphere that had established diplomatic relations with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Ever since, the two countries have shared special traditional relations.
Vietnam and Cuba have enjoyed a special friendship, solidarity and mutual trust in the past six decades, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on December 1.
Former Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Secretary of the Party Central Committee Vu Khoan recounted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs his memories on the beginning of the Vietnam -Cuba friendship, which has been marked by loyalty and affinity, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 – December 2, 2020).
