A traditional music performance opened the “Vietnam Days in Argentina ” festival in Buenos Aires on September 19.

The event was co-organised by Vietnam ’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina , and Argentina ’s Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture to mark the 40 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Argentine Secretary of Culture Jorge Coscia said Vietnam-Argentina relations are flourishing and this cultural event will contribute to further strengthening the bilateral relations in the coming time.

Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh, who is on a working visit to Argentina , also attended the ceremony.

An exhibition themed “ Vietnam : country, people and traditional dress”, displaying photos, lacquer paintings and traditional clothing of Vietnam ’s ethnic groups, will take place in Buenos Aires from September 20 to October 31.

During his talk with Argentine Secretary of Culture Jorge Coscia, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh said Vietnam hopes to promote cooperation with Argentina in the fields of culture, sport and tourism.

He also proposed enhancing delegation exchange to share experiences in cultural management, heritage preservation. The two sides also discussed on tapping their tourism potentials.

Argentine hosts expressed their hope to elevate cultural cooperation between the two countries to a new height.

The Argentina ’s culture ministry also announced that it will hold an Argentine Cultural Week in Vietnam in November.-VNA
