An exhibition on the Vietnamese culture space which opened on May 3 in Bologna city, northern Emilia-Romagna region, Italy, launched Vietnam Days in Emilia-Romagna.

The exhibition showcases photographs, documents, books, newspapers and Vietnamese traditional music instruments, paintings, introducing the land and people of Vietnam.

Nguyen Hoang Long, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy, said the event is followed by various activities, including a photo exhibition on Vietnam-Italy Solidarity during the 1960-1970 period, a display of Vietnamese newspapers and books and an economic workshop on “Vietnam – The destination”. The events are scheduled to last till May 11.

Bologna Deputy Mayor Silvia Giannini said she hopes that the culture space of Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany will be held in Vietnam in October, introducing the culture, cuisine, industrial and agricultural products and handicrafts of the two regions to Vietnamese people.

She also hoped to strengthen the economic cooperation between Vietnam and Emilia-Romagna enterprises, particularly in its strong fields such as manufacturing engineering.

Vietnam Days in Emilia-Romagna is part of the “Vietnam Year in Italy ” to mark the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The programme includes various activities to be held throughout the year in major Italian cities - Rome, Florence, Milan, Bologna and Venice.-VNA
