Phnom Penh (VNA) – A conference on the implementation of benefits andpolicies for Vietnamese national contributors who are living in Cambodia under the Government’ Decree No.102/2018/ND-CP was organised in Phnom Penh on April 22.
Speaking at the event,Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Vu Quang Minh said that the conference willhelp better serve the implementation of polices to honour those who contributed to the country, he added.
At the conference,Major General Tran Quoc Dung, head of the General Political Department’s PolicyDepartment under the Vietnam People’s Army, listened to ideas andrecommendations on the implementation of the Government’s decree on benefits foroverseas national contributors, given by representatives from the VietnameseConsulates General, defence attaché office, Vietnam-Khmer Association and itschapters in 22 out of 25 provinces and cities in Cambodia.
The promulgation andimplementation of benefits and policies targeting national contributors who areliving abroad reaffirms the Party and State’s consistent policy of consideringthe overseas Vietnamese community an integral part of the nation.
According to reportsby the 63 provinces and centrally run cities as well as the Ministry of ForeignAffairs, there are about 40,000 overseas national contributors, with some29,600 still alive. They include those who contributed to the revolution, tookpart in resistance wars, and were involved in international missions.-VNA
