Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam takes a consistent stance on supporting peace, stability, denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula, and non-proliferation and disarmament of nuclear weapons.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh made the statement at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on March 3 in response to a VNA reporter’s query about Vietnam’s stance on the UN Security Council (UNSC)’s adoption of a resolution proposing sanctions against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on March 2.
Vietnam wants parties concerned to actively promote dialogues seeking peaceful solutions to issues regarding the Korean peninsula, making practical contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world, he said.
“As a responsible member of the international community, Vietnam has been and does abide seriously by the UNSC’s relevant resolutions”, he stated.-VNA
