Vietnam films to go US

A “New voices from Vietnam ” screening series will be presented in Los Angeles , California , the US , in a week starting from November 5.
A “New voices from Vietnam ” screening series will be presented inLos Angeles , California , the US , in a week starting from November5.

A series of temporary movies will be on screen,including the “Floating Lives” by Quang Binh and “Clash” by Le ThanhSon, which are currently hot in Vietnam .

The eventaims to boost the exchange of education and culture between the USand Vietnam under an international outreach programme launched bythe US Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

OnNovember 10, the Academy will hold a ceremony to salute director DangNhat Minh, author of popular classic films like Nostalgia for theCountryside, the Love Doesn’t Come Back and Don’t Burn, for hiscontribution to Vietnam ’s cinema industry.

His “Guava House” will be screened on this occasion./.
