Vietnam, France bolster cooperation in cancer treatment

Paris (VNA) – A delegation of KHospital led by Prof., Dr Tran Van Thuan, Director of the hospital and head ofthe Vietnam National Institute for Cancer Control (NICC), has visited France’sAvicenne Hospital and Curie Institute.

Thevisit aimed to promote health cooperation between Vietnam and France.

During the trip, K Hospital and AvicenneHospital inked a cooperation agreement for the two sides to work together forbilateral development.

Avicenne Hospital will receive young doctors andresearchers of K Hospital in training programmes for resident doctors,oncologists and physician-scientists. 

Furthermore, the French hospital will share itsadvanced technologies in cancer diagnosis and treatment and experience inhospital management to international standards. 

The two sides will also join cancer researchtogether. 

In addition, cooperation programmes inpostgraduate, constant training and partner universities will be devised in thefuture.

A cooperation pact between the NICC and theCurie Institute is expected to be signed in Vietnam in November.-VNA

Brain-dead organ donor helps save six lives

Within 24 hours, the process of receiving the donated liver, two kidneys, two corneas, and skin to conducte transplantation for six patients was completed. The last surgery ended at 8:00 pm on May 3.
