New Delhi (VNA) - Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan and Indian Minister of Information and Broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu agreed on the need to intensify the two countries’ cooperation in press and broadcasting at their meeting at the Indian ministry’s headquarters on March 27.
Minister Tuan said that the two countries hold much potential in cooperation in this field as India is strong in the press-publishing-broadcasting sector.
He proposed several cooperative measures, including the share of experience in press, publishing and broadcasting management, support in applying information technology in this sphere and the exchange of external information products such as broadcast media programmes and images to strengthen mutual understanding between the two peoples.
Meanwhile, Minister Naidu showed his hope that India and Vietnam will intensify delegation exchanges, boost collaboration between their press agencies and encourage film-making in each country.
Both of them agreed to promote journalist training, hold more seminars in this field, and screen each other’s famous films.
On the same day, Minister Tuan visited the Vietnamese Embassy in India, where a photo exhibition and film show themed “Discover Vietnam 2017” is taking place.
With 180 photos and 79 films, the event aims to introduce the image of the land of Vietnam to Indian people in order to enhance the bilateral time-honoured friendship and multi-faceted cooperation.
