Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam ParalympicAssociation had a working session with authorities from the Japanese prefectureof Nagasaki in Hanoi on April 26 to discuss the development of sports forpeople with disabilities in the two countries.
Vice Chairman of the association Hoang Duthanked the Japanese government and National Paralympic Committee forsupporting Vietnamese disabled athletes to attend training courses on swimmingand weightlifting in preparation for the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo.
He hoped the Japanese prefecture willcontinuously help Vietnamese athletes and enable them to partake in friendlycompetitions held in both nations.
Parliamentarian Kobayashi Katsutoshi hailedVietnam’s sports development in recent years, highlighting the two gold medalsachieved by Vietnamese athletes at the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games inBrazil.
He said he welcomes Vietnamese athletes to jointraining courses in Japan and pledged to provide the optimal assistance forthem from playing ground to accomodation.-VNA
