The event was attendedby former Japanese Prime Minister and President of the Japan-VietnamCouncil for Peace and Friendship Tomiichi Muarayama, Deputy ViceChairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association Nguyen Sy Dung andChairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association Furuta Motoo, amongothers.
Chairman of the People’s Committee of Vinh Phucprovince, Phung Quang Hung, spoke highly of the competence,technological capability and prestige of Japanese enterprises, andthanked the country’s government, people and businesses for investingand supporting Vinh Phuc province over the past time.
VinhPhuc is one of several Vietnamese provinces to have formed cooperativerelations with Japanese firms, and there are currently 19 JapaneseForeign Direct Investment (FDI) projects operating effectively in thelocality, he added.
The official voiced his desire for theJapanese friendship associations to help attract more Japanese investorsto the province.
For his part, Furuta Motoo expressed his pridein the contributions the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association has madeto nurturing relations between the two countries.
He hoped thatthis visit will help the delegates understand more about Vinh Phucprovince as well as strengthening communication with the province andVietnam at large.
The delegation took the occasion to visit HondaVietnam, a Vietnam-Japan joint venture company which has providedeffective investment in Vinh Phuc province since 1995.-VNA
