Financial and budgetary officials of the National Assembly of Vietnam are meeting with their colleagues from Laos and Cambodia at a symposium on auditing, starting April 6 in Vientiane, Laos.

The Vietnamese delegation to the two-day symposium is led by Dinh Trinh Hai, Vice Director of the Financial and Budgetary Committee of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA).

The Vietnamese officials shared with their Lao and Cambodian counterparts the coordinating mechanisms between the NA’s committees and government agencies, especially those between the Financial and Budgetary Committee and the State Audit, in conducting audits and preparing State estimations, supplements to the central budget, and budget reports for the NA to approve.

They also introduced the participants to the mechanisms used to supply information and the results of the State audits to NA agencies and vice-versa to consult the NA in performing its functions effectively.

During the two days, the participants are expected to discuss various forms of auditing, international experiences relating to government-parliament coordinating mechanisms and those used in the process of making and reporting audits, and other issues in the field./.
