Vietnam, Laos ink MoU on transport cooperation

Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang and Lao Minister of Public Works and Transport Buonchanh Sinthavong signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on transport cooperation from 2016-2025 in Vientiane on September 14.

The MoU laid a legal foundation for Vietnam and Laos to plan transport linkages and develop a modern and sustainable transport system between the two countries, paving the way for further expansion of bilateral trade.

It also pointed out that each side is responsible for mobilising resources for transport investment in respective country.

The deal facilitates better coordination between Vietnam and Laos, particularly in identifying key road projects connecting the two countries and other ASEAN member states and attracting investment.-VNA

The PM suggested the two sides develop new orientations for Vietnam – Laos cooperation in labour and national contributor affairs suited to the evolving context, paving the way for the signing of an agreement in this field to deepen and expand collaboration in the areas within their remit.

Vietnam, Indonesia promote collaboration in personnel training

To formalise cooperation in personnel training and development between the two countries, as well as between the HCMA and Lemhannas, the Vietnamese official suggested that the international cooperation units of both sides create a priority cooperation framework and prepare to sign a memorandum of understanding.
