At the reception to the delegation,Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence DouangchayPhichith thanked the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam ’s army andpeople for their support to the success of Laos ’ revolution.
He affirmed that the Lao Party, Government and people pledged to exerttheir utmost in order to maintain and further promote the longlastingsolidarity and traditional relations between the two countries.
In the framework of the visit, the delegation met with PhankhamViphavan, Lao Minister of Education and Sports, who is also Chairman ofLVFA.
The former Vietnamese experts and volunteersoldiers also visited and placed wreath in the Laos-Vietnam Martyrs’Cemetery in Sepon district, Savanakhet province and joined in exchangeactivities with Division 4 of the Lao People’s Army.
At Savanakhet University , the Vietnamese delegation took part inan exchange with more than 1,000 Lao veterans and the university’steachers and students. The two countries’ veterans recalled powerfulmemories of the arduous resistance time and fierce struggles againstFrench colonialism and American Imperialism.
Theexchange helped thousands of young Lao people gain a betterunderstanding of Laos ’ revolutionary history and the specialtraditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos. /.
