Vietnam, Laos share experience in building tradition hall

Hanoi (VNA) – Vice Chairman Sommad Pholsenaand a delegation of the of the Lao National Assembly (NA) held a workingsession in Hanoi on July 8 with the Office of the Vietnamese NA, during whichthe two sides exchanged experience in building a tradition hall.

Earlier the same day, the Lao delegation visited theVietnamese NA building in Hanoi, including the tradition hall and the the area displaying underground archaeological discoveries at the NA House.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese NA Office Vu MinhTuan said Vietnam sent officials to Laos from May 6-10 to share experience inbuilding such hall for the Lao legislature.

The Vietnamese NA Office stands ready to furthersupport the Lao NA’s Secretariat in both construction and management andoperation of the hall and the NA building as well, he affirmed.

Sommad Pholsena suggested competent agencies of thetwo countries’ NA Offices exchange documents and objects, which are expected tobe displayed at the Lao NA's traditional hall and the ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties, and 45 years of the signing ofthe Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity./.

Ho Chi Minh City steps up law enforcement on fishing vessel monitoring system

Ho Chi Minh City has 4,449 fishing vessels, of them 4,301 equipped with VMS devices, making up 96.67%. Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, authorities found 1,729 cases of vessels losing VMS connection for six hours or more, issuing fines in 196 cases totalling nearly 6.6 billion VND (about 252,000 USD)
