Japan from June 6-14 to learn Japanese experiences in building
development strategy.
The experiences will be taken into account when Vietnam builds its Socio-Economic Development Strategy for the 2011-2020 period.
The delegation, led by Professor-Doctor Do Hoai Nam, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), heard Japanese reports on their experiences in designing policies on industry, finance, tax, social welfare, small and medium-sized businesses and how to link industries and
universities.
During the trip, the Vietnamese experts attended the Japan-Vietnam Economic Development Forum jointly held by the Daiwa Institute and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Famous Japanese scholars, including former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Japan (BOJ) Toshiro Muto and former Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hideji Sugiyama, also joined the event.
At the forum, they proposed long-term strategies for Vietnam that based on Japanese experiences in the field of industry development, foreign investment, human resource training and funding for small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Similar forums will be held in Vietnam this summer in preparation for the country’s Socio-Economic Development Strategy for the 2011-2020 period./.
