Japan were defeated 2-4 by the Republic of Korea (RoK) while Cambodia beat Chinese Taipei 2-1.

Vietnam , who tied with the RoK 1-1, will meet Cambodia in thethird match on Sept. 17 and Chinese Taipei next Sept.19.

Forty teams have been divided into two zones, separated into sevengroups of five and six teams each. Each group is set to play one roundat a centralised venue with the top two teams from each group moving onto the tournament.

The top three teams from both West and East zones will compete as part of the 16-team line-up at the 2012 finals. /.
